Pop Culture Rant: Episode 5 - Pewdiepie and Pokemon Go

In this week's month's Rant, I talk about some YouTube stuff and some Pokemon Go stuff. I do also touch on my disappearing act, and yes, the Hey Arnold Jungle Movie.

I'm still thinking about what I really, really want to do with the Rant, which is why I was so easily taken down by a terrible illness. There is like a "lost" episode - one I recorded before the sickness so easily downed me that I didn't even properly convert it to an MP3, and by the time I was well enough, the moment had passed. I may share it some day. But that's kind of the problem with pop culture rants - they're only relevant in the moment.

I talked about Kevin Smith being on Good Mythical Morning, and the trailers for the Finding Dory and Ghostbusters trailer. I have been gone a long time. I am sorry. I'm working on it.

And if you want some semblance of a regular update schedule, I've been doing very well with my A Very Special Episode series on my main YouTube channel.

Pop Culture Rant: Episode 4 - Legends of the Hidden Temple, Hey Arnold, and Fuller House

Being a 90s kid is so weird these days. In today's Rant, I talk about the Legends of the Hidden Temple and Hey Arnold revivals, and I discuss my opinions on the series Fuller House.

My mom is a 70s kid and she thought it was weird 20 years ago that they were making a Brady Bunch Movie - oh my gosh, we're as far from that movie as it was the TV show! Gosh, I should ask her opinion on how the 90s just refuse to die. And make her watch Fuller House - it's only fair, it's not like I chose to start watching Full House when I was a month shy of being 4 years old. I didn't know how to tell time or read TV Guide.

Pop Culture Rant updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thanks for hanging out with me.

Pop Culture Rant: Episode 3 - Powerless and #MakeYouTubeGreatAgain

In today's Rant, I discuss how excited I am by casting news for NBC's pilot Powerless, and a lot of stuff that has been going on in an attempt to #MakeYouTubeGreatAgain.

I am sick, so my voice sounds all messed up, and I just hope you guys will forgive that. Also, Nicole Arbor decided that she was at it again, but I really didn't want to rant about that. But if you really are into learning about the hype without breaking down and watching her actual video, I feel like J SHOWTIME and LeafyIsHere each did a great job summing it up.

I talked about a lot of YouTube videos in this Rant, and I will link each of them below if you want to check them out:

GradeAUnderA: Everything That's Wrong With YouTube (Part2/2) - The Community Guidelines

DramaAlert: GradeAUnderA vs Joseph Costello LIVE DEBATE #DramaAlert

I Hate Everything has made his "This Isn't Funny Anymore" video private, but I'm going to let Leonard French (Copyright Attorney on I Hate Everything's illegitimate takedowns from Merlin CDLTD #WTFU) explain it to you.

DramaAlert: GradeAUnderA - Damn Daniel HACKED! #DramaAlert Sam Pepper vs Laci Green

Thanks for hanging out with me. See you on Thursday.

Pop Culture Rant: Episode 2 - Community, Undeclared, Netflix, Love

In today's Rant, I talk about the new Netflix series Love, which leads to a discussion of all the shows that made it possible for me to want to watch Love in the first place - almost. At the time of the recording, I hadn't quite realized that Tracie Thoms (Mahandra from Wonderfalls) was in it. Perhaps worthy of its own discussion one day.

The Rant updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you have any suggestions or comments, or even want to chat with me on the Rant, please leave a comment.

Thanks for hanging out with me, and have an awesome day.

Pop Culture Rant: Episode 1 - YouTube, Suicide Squad, Deadpool, and Zoolander 2

Welcome to the Pop Culture Rant, where your host Amanda (that's me) rants about various pop culture-related topics. In this episode, listen to my take on the Fine Brothers and their React World announcement, why I believe Content ID is the bane of YouTube's existence, my thoughts on the Suicide Squad movie trailer, and my thoughts on the movies Deadpool and Zoolander 2.

The Channel Awesome video referred to in the podcast can be found here.

The Rant will update on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you have suggestions or comments, leave them in the comments below! And if you'd like to be a guest on the rant, leave a comment and we can try to work something out.

Right about now, I wish I had a catchphrase. Thanks for hanging out with me.
